It is well known that one of the limitations of second-moment modellin
g is due to the pressure-strain closure T-ij. This term is normally di
vided into a rapid, or mean-strain-turbulence interaction term, and a
slow or turbulence-turbulence interaction term. For homogeneous and in
compressible pow, the classical expression of the rapid term (Lumley,
1978) is linked to spectral description of turbulence involving a four
th order teaser, the model for which is an isotropic functional of the
deviator of the Reynolds tensor only. Resulting models of T-ij presen
t difficulties Sor prediction of pure rotational pow (Johansson et al.
, 1994), where the information exists at the spectral level (Cambon et
al., 1989). The aim of this study is to propose a closure based on tr
ansport equation Sor the fourth order tensor and to look at the inform
ation included.
