F. Grosse et R. Zimmermann, GROWTH SIMULATION OF TERNARY QUANTUM STRUCTURES AND THEIR OPTICAL-PROPERTIES, Superlattices and microstructures, 17(4), 1995, pp. 439-444
Interface roughness and alloy disorder are known to influence the opti
cal linewidths of quantum structures. A simple model is used to simula
te the growth process in molecular beam epitaxy. The relation of diffe
rent growth temperatures tp interface structure and optical properties
is shown by calculating the exciton lineshape using simulated structu
res. The inherent exciton averaging can lead to broader and more struc
tured lineshapes for apparently better grown samples. (C) 1995 Academi
