Rd. Harcourt, EXAMPLES OF VALENCE-BOND REPRESENTATIONS FOR THE DECOMPOSITIONS OF N3NO AND N3NO2, Journal of molecular structure. Theochem, 342, 1995, pp. 51-57
Valence bond representations are provided for the decompositions of N3
NO and N3NO2 Standard Lewis and increased-valence structures are used
for this purpose. The electronic reorganizations that are associated w
ith the use of these two types of structures involve electron-pair del
ocalizations and one-electron delocalizations, respectively, which aff
ord polar and non-polar representations for the decompositions.
