The results of measurements and analysis of the differential cross sec
tions for neutron emission in the reactions In-115(alpha, xn) and Sn-1
22(alpha, xn) at alpha-particle energies of 26.8 and 45.2 MeV are pres
ented. Data on equilibrium emission are interpreted in the statistical
model based on the Hauser-Feshbach formalism for multicascade process
es. As a result, the parameters of the nuclear-level density in the ba
ck-shifted Fermi-gas model are determined over a wide range of excitat
ion energies and cross sections for neutron emission at various stages
of the evaporation process.
