Av. Blinov et al., INVESTIGATION OF THE REACTIONS ALPHA-P-]TPP AND ALPHA-P-]TAU-PN INDUCED BY 2.7-GEV C ALPHA-PARTICLES/, Physics of atomic nuclei, 58(10), 1995, pp. 1713-1720
The underlying mechanisms of the reactions alpha p --> tpp and alpha p
--> tau pn are studied. Data from the ITEP two-meter bubble chamber f
illed with liquid hydrogen and irradiated by a 2.7-GeV/c separated a-p
article beam are analyzed. The total cross sections for the two reacti
ons are estimated at 20.7 +/- 0.4 and 34.4 +/- 0.4 mb, respectively. T
he phase-space domains in which quasifree scattering and final-state i
nteractions play leading roles are isolated. The angular, momentum, an
d invariant-mass distributions of secondary particles are obtained ove
r the entire allowed kinematic range. In the region of quasifree scatt
ering, the data are compared with the pole-model predictions.
