CERAMIC AND METALS DEVELOPMENT - A SELECTIVE OVERVIEW

Materials development has been proceeding at a tremendous rate over th e past decade. Thus to write a comprehensive review of these developme nts would be impossible in the context of this article. Here we review some of the notable achievements in materials development in the fiel d of ceramics and metals and look briefly towards the future. For each material class aspects of material formulation development and fabric ation are discussed illustrating each with examples.
