Abstract
The retracing behavior of the phase matching in optical parametric pro cesses with angle-tuned LiB3O5 crystals has been investigated. The sim ultaneous generation of two pairs of parametric beams and a novel mult iwavelength interaction phenomenon have been observed and analyzed. Th e design and performance of a picosecond multiwavelength optical param etric amplifier with three angle-tuned lithium triborate crystals is d escribed. As much as 2.34 mJ/pulse of output, corresponding to a conve rsion efficiency of 26%, has been obtained. (C) 1995 Optical Society o f America
