S. Tsuchiya et al., POSITIVELY CHARGED MONOLAYER PHOTORECEPTOR WITH H-2-PHTHALOCYANINE, Journal of imaging science and technology, 39(4), 1995, pp. 294-298
Electrographic properties of a positively charged monolayer photorecep
tor that consists of x-type metal-free phthalocyanine (xH(2)Pc) and a
binder resin were studied. The performance of the photoreceptor depend
ed on the state of xH(2)Pc molecules in the binder resin. Optimal perf
ormance was generally obtained in the case where a portion of the xH(2
)Pc molecules dissolved in the binder resin in the form of a dimer. Th
e photoinduced discharge curve for a polyvinylbutyral binder exhibited
a much shorter induction period than that for a polystyrene binder, w
hich is ascribed to the ease of dimer formation of the former resin. T
he characteristic features of the new photoreceptor include high sensi
tivity (1-2 cm(2)/mu J), low residual potential(<30 V), and flat spect
ral response between 600 and 800 nm.
