Ms. Golden et al., THE ELECTRONIC-STRUCTURE OF FULLERENES AND FULLERENE COMPOUNDS FROM HIGH-ENERGY SPECTROSCOPY, Journal of physics. Condensed matter, 7(43), 1995, pp. 8219-8247
The high-energy spectroscopic study of the electronic structure of ful
lerenes and their compounds in the solid state is reviewed. It is show
n that photoemission and electron energy-loss spectroscopy in transmis
sion provide powerful tools for the experimental study of the electron
ic structure of solid C-60, C-70 and higher fullerenes, as well as the
compounds formed by their intercalation with alkali and alkaline-eart
h metals. Topical issues in the field are addressed, such as the role
played by electron correlation, disorder and electron-phonon coupling.
