Results are reported for a potentiometric study of the complexes of 2-
amino-2-deoxy-D-glycero-L-gluco heptonic acid (2-Amino-L-gluco) with c
obalt (II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II), and cadmium(II). The ide
ntities of the complex species formed and the corresponding formation
constants' have been determined with the aid of computer analysis. Con
ditions were: temperature, 25 degrees C; ionic strength, 0.1 M in aque
ous solution. The formation constants are discussed in terms of the ch
aracteristics of the amino acid.
