Hj. Oakey et al., CAN RAPD-PCR BE USED TO DISCRIMINATE BETWEEN THE HYBRIDIZATION GROUPSOF AEROMONAS, Medical microbiology letters, 4(7), 1995, pp. 373-381
We report the preliminary results obtained from an investigation into
the suitability of the random amplified polymorphic DNA polymerase cha
in reaction to discriminate between the currently recognised DNA hybri
disation groups of the genus Aeromonas. The production of a multi-band
ed fingerprint was dependent upon the primer used. We show that at lea
st one 10-mer primer (OPE-14) will form different fingerprints of mult
iple bands for all hybridisation groups, thus suggesting that RAPD-PCR
may have potential as a discriminatory tool for aeromonads.
