Abstract
The response of the lag phase of a psychrotrophic strain of Aeromonas hydrophila to increasing temperatures was investigated. A predictive m odel was built on the hypothesis that cells can respond to a shift of temperature with a prompt adaptation to the new condition. The validat ion of the model showed that predicted and observed values of the lag time were in good agreement.
