Abstract
The authors have investigated the gain characteristics of a fibreoptic al parametric amplifier operating near zero-dispersion wavelength. The gain spectrum is very sensitive to the difference between the pump an d zero-dispersion wavelengths. A gain of 12dB and an output saturation power of 8.4dBm have been demonstrated, with a pump power of 180mW.
