Abstract
The crystal structure of methylsilyl)-bis[mu-(dimethylsilyl)]diiron(Fe -Fe), [Fe-2(CH3Cl-Si)(C2H6Si)(2)(CO)(6)], has been determined. The Fe- Fe distance is 2.705(1) Angstrom and the Fe-Si distances are 2.322(3) Angstrom. The combination of the sixfold screw axis and the uniqueness of the bridging SiMeCl moiety create rotational disorder within the u nit cell.
