Abstract
The notable feature of the title compound is the non-planarity of the pentane-2,4-dione moiety. This fragment of the molecule adopts a signi ficantly distorted S conformation with a dihedral angle of 62.1(2)degr ees between the planes through C1-C2(=O1)-C3 and C3-C4(=O2)-C5. The mo lecular packing involves C-H ... O close contacts.
