Abstract
The syntheses and solid-state structures of two stilbene carbamates, 4 -[2-(4-nitrophenyl)ethenyl]phenylcarbamic acid ethyl ester, C17H16N2O4 , (1), and 4-[2-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)ethenyl]phenylcarbamic acid ethyl e ater, C17H15N3O6, (2), are described. The crystallization from tetrahy drofuran solutions occurs in the monoclinic system with space group P2 (1)/n. Both molecules display hydrogen bonding. For compound (2), ther e are two different molecules in the asymmetric unit.
