Abstract
Several highly functionalized diolefins cyclize to hydroazulenes via o lefin metathesis catalyzed either by CH3ReO31 or by the ruthenium cata lyst synthesized by Grubbs.(2) We demonstrate the superiority of the r uthenium catalyst.
