C. Dupont et al., A STUDY OF THE EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF CIS APRIDE IN PEDIATRIC-PATIENTS WITH GASTROESOPHAGEAL REFLUX, Annales de pediatrie, 42(8), 1995, pp. 515-525
Children with Gastro-(Esophageal Reflux Disease (GORD) can present usu
al gastrointestinal symptoms (regurgitation, vomiting...) or respirato
ry symptoms (chronic cough, wheezing, laryngitis...). In this study, 9
6 children hospitalized or not and followed in 12 pediatric department
s for GORD gastrointestinal symptoms (56.3%) or GORD respiratory sympt
oms with pH-monitoring evaluation were treated by cisapride (0,2 mg/kg
QiD). Clinical evaluations were realized at days 0/14/30 and 60 for r
espiratory group. The results of this study showed a significant impro
vement of the gastrointestinal and/or respiratory symptoms. Equally, t
he 24h and nocturnal pH-monitoring scores presented same and significa
tive changes from beginning to end of treatment. Eleven children of ga
strointestinal group and 10 children of respiratory group presented mo
derate side effects (diarrhoea essentially). Finally, efficacy was dec
lared good or excellent by investigators for 70.8% of the children and
tolerance good or excellent for 89.7% of the children.
