M. Andreeva et al., EVALUATION OF THE DIAGNOSTIC-VALUE OF A S IMPLE SCREENING-TEST FOR TUBULOINTERSTITIAL PROTEINURIA, Nieren- und Hochdruckkrankheiten, 24(10), 1995, pp. 573-575
A simple screening test for tubulointerstitial proteinuria based on de
termination of total urinary protein with benzetonium chloride and alb
umin by a bromcresolgreen method is used by Bulgarian nephrological cl
inics for more than 5 years. With a purpose to evaluate the diagnostic
value of this method we compare its results (in 43 low-proteinuric pa
tients, 23 suffered from glomerulopathies and 20 suffered from tubuloi
nterstitial diseases) with results adopted with quantitative immunoche
mical methods for individual urinary proteins (albumin, alpha(1)-micro
globulin). Based on these results we are able to conclude that the est
imated approach for characterizing the type of the proteinuria is suit
able for the routine nephrological practice screening. In the cases wh
ere more precize analysis of the urinary protein is necessary we have
to use higher specific methods.
