Linear ac transport of a one-dimensional electron gas in cylindrical G
aAs quantum wires (QWs) under zero to moderate de bias fields has been
examined on the basis of the balance equation transport theory. Dynam
ic screening of the electron-electron interaction is considered in the
random phase approximation. In contrast to the case without a de bias
field, the ac mobility contains an additional contribution from the e
lectron temperature oscillation when a de bias field is simultaneously
applied. Numerical results at 4.2 K show that the plasma contribution
s noticeably change the memory functions even with a de bias of modera
te strength. As a result, the ac mobility is appreciably influenced by
the plasma excitation at frequency ranging from 1 GHz to 30 GHz.
