We report chemical preparation and crystal structure of the first comp
ound, ZnNa4P6O18.6H(2)O, of a new M(II)M(I)(4)P6O18.nH(2)O cyclohexaph
osphate family. This mixed salt is triclinic, with Z=1 and the followi
ng unit cell parameters : a = 9.284(5), b = 9.127(5), c = 7.418(3) Ang
strom, alpha = 72.13(5), beta = 105.34(5), gamma = 115.67(5)degrees Sp
ace groupe is <P(1)over bar>. In this arrangement P6O18 rings, ZnO6 oc
tahedra and Na(1)O-6, Na(2)O-5 polyhedra form two kinds of ribbons, sp
reading in different directions, in order to assure the three-dimensio
nal network cohesion. Crystal structure was solved by using 4811 refle
ctions, with a final R = 0.039. The hydrogen -bond scheme is described
.
