The preparation and molecular structures of the clusters Cp'3Mo3CoS4(C
O), Cp'3Mo3FeS4(SH), and Cp'2Mo2Co2S3(PPh)(CO) are reported along with
the structure of the previously known cluster Cp'2Mo2Co2S4(CO)(2). Al
l these compounds have a tetrahedron of metal atoms at distances corre
sponding to metal-metal single bonds with mu(3)-S ligands capping the
triangular metal faces of the tetrahedron to give an overall cubanelik
e geometry to the clusters. In Cp'2Mo2Co2S3(PPh)(CO), there is one mu(
3)-PPh ligand in addition to three mu(3)-S ligands.
