G. Banfi et al., MULTICENTER EVALUATION OF CAPTURE ASSAY RADIM LIQUID ALLERGEN FOR MEASUREMENT OF SPECIFIC IGE ANTIBODIES, European journal of clinical chemistry and clinical biochemistry, 33(10), 1995, pp. 755-759
A multicentre trial of Capture Assay Radim Liquid Allergen was perform
ed to define the sensitivity, specificity and clinical reliability of
the system in diagnostic allergology. The results of the evaluation we
re compared with clinical data and in vivo testing. Good agreement was
obtained for Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (D1), Cat's epithelium (E
1), Betula verrucosa (T3) and Olea europea (T9), Artemisia vulgaris (W
6) and Parietaria officinalis (W19). Some spreading of data was observ
ed for Artemisia absinthium (W5), Cynodon dactylon (G2), and Lolium pe
renne (G5). We found a high number of negative cases for Alternaria al
ternata (M6). The advantages offered by the system are the automation,
the small quantity of serum requested, the supply of quantitative res
ults in international units of specific IgE, the user-friendly softwar
e. The data are sufficiently reliable for the diagnostic system to be
introduced into the clinical laboratory allergological routine.
