Abstract
It can be expected that the quality of life in obesity is impaired sin ce obesity is severely stigmatized in affluent societies(1-4) and also increases the risk of disability,(5) mortality and morbidity.(6) In a ddition. the fact that obesity is inversely related to socioeconomic s tatus in women(7) and is associated with both downward social mobility and lower levels of socioeconomic attainment(8-10) may further impair the quality of life in obesity. However. relatively little is known a bout the quality of life in obesity.
