Abstract
Reactions of some new 3-aryl-phthalazinium-1-olates were studied with olefinic and acetylenic dipolarophiles giving the expected cycloadduct s. However, the cycloaddition of ,6'-dimethylpyrimidin-2'-yl)-phthalaz inium-1-olate with ethyl acetylenecarboxylate was not regioselective a nd gave a mixture of two possible regioisomers.
