Abstract
Highly dispersed palladium particles were electrodeposited from PdCl2 + H2SO4 and PdCl2 + HCl solutions in st Nafion film applied on vitreou s carbon. Possible factors responsible for the Nafion film permeabilit y to [PdCl4](2-) anions and impermeability to [Fe(CN)(6)](3-) anions a re discussed. A substantial effect of deposition conditions on the ele ctrocatalytic properties of palladium catalysts was discovered. The ro le of the polymeric matrix in the formation of palladium particles and their behavior in the processes of hydrogen sorption and formic acid electrooxidation is discussed.
