Recent extensive field and taxonomic studies have revealed new taxa of
various ranks in the leguminous tribe Vicieae, whereas few other taxa
had to be revised. Most of the findings were in the Northern district
s of Israel and the Golan Heights. The article sums up these innovatio
ns, diagnostically describing two new taxa in Lathyrus and three in Vi
cia. Possible modes of differentiation in the tribe are briefly discus
sed.
