For the treatment of cutaneous vasculitis it is of considerable import
ance to distinguish clinically between vasculitis as primary disease o
r as secondary process due to a systemic disease. This implies a thoro
ught diagnosis of the patient to classify the individual case. The cur
rently available therapy of cutaneous vasculitis is rarely causative.
In most cases a symptomatically orientated antiinflammatory immunosupp
ressive therapy is used to control the disease. In this review we will
report on the currenlty used therapy protocols in cutaneous vasculiti
s.
