The results are given of an experimental investigation of the electron
density and the frequency of electron collisions with heavy particles
in the wake of spherical fluoroplastic models flying in the air at a
velocity of 5.4 - 6.0 km/s. The measurements were performed with the a
id of microwave resonators and electrostatic probes. The measurement d
ata enable one to determine the temperature in the wake and specify th
e chemical composition; these data may also provide a basis for the co
nstruction of models of plasmochemical processes.
