Experimentally revealed differences in the behavior of the growth rate s of pyrocarbon and diamond, depending on the composition of the mixtu re of material-forming gases (methane-acetylene), are interpreted in t erms of the kinetic model of pyrocarbon formation in pyrolysis of gase ous hydrocarbons and their mixtures, developed by the authors previous ly.
