In this work the relationship between life-events and anxiety is exami
ned in a sample of adolescents. Data life-events were obtained from th
e AVIA (Inventario de Acontecimientos Vitales en Infancia y Adolescenc
ia) (P. Morato, adapted), and anxiety from the STAIC (State-Trait Anxi
ety Inventory of Children) (Spielberg, 1973). The sample was composed
by 695 adolescents of 14 to 15 years old. The results show that higher
levels of anxiety are related with the experience of more negative li
fe-events.
