Abstract
Ebey, Liu and Vilches (J.Low Temperature Physics, in press) have recen tly analyzed desorption heat capacity data to determine the binding en ergy of He atoms on a ''compound'' substrate consisting of one, two or three layers of H-2 adsorbed on a graphite surface. Using a Hartree m odel to derive an effective potential, we calculate theoretical bindin g energies in these cases and find them in good agreement with experim ental data.
