P. Poupard et al., NACL AND WOUNDING INDUCED CHANGES IN NAD REDUCTASE IN HYPOCOTYLS AND ROOT-TIPS OF PHASEOLUS-VULGARIS L, Biologia plantarum, 37(4), 1995, pp. 597-604
The effect of 300 mM NaCl and wounding on the nicotinamide adenine din
ucleotide (NAD) kinase, revealed by the guanosine triphosphate-depende
nt NAD reductase activity, was studied in two differently resistant be
an cultivars using densitometric analysis of electrophoretic gels. In
the presence of NaCl the total activity of NAD reductase was increased
, in hypocotyls and root tips of resistant cultivar. The contribution
of each of NAD reductase isoforms to the total activity was not signif
icantly different between cultivars. Conversely, after wounding the hy
pocotyl, an increase could be observed in both cultivars and differenc
es were demonstrated in the contribution of the different isoforms.
