PREOPERATIVE DIAGNOSTICS AND SURGICAL-MANAGEMENT OF TERTIARY HYPERPARATHYROIDISM AFTER CHRONIC-RENAL-FAILURE IN A CHILD

Although hyperparathyroidism is a rate condition in young children, th e pediatric surgeon is asked occasionally to participate in the manage ment of a child with parathyroid disease. In this paper we report on a girl with global glomerulosclerosis, an unsuccessful renal transplant ation and a longterm peritoneal dialysis? who developed an autonomous hyperparathyroidism. Emphasis is placed on the preoperative diagnosis and surgical management in children.
