Destructive processes in the crown cells of the cut lisianthus flower
in water develop within five days. Appearance of visual signs of senes
cence intimately correlates with changes in the membrane permeability,
water saturation of the flower tissues, and content of abscisic acid
and phenolcarbonic acids in the petal cells. The use of a protective s
olution containing a bactericide and antioxidant, as well as respirati
on substrate permits to stabilize metabolic processes for three - four
days and delay degradation of cell structures in the tissues of the l
isianthus crown.
