Abstract
The results of a study aimed at the determination of the concentration of Rhodamine-B dye at parts per billion (ppb) levels from remotely-se nsed optical reflectance spectra of marine and fresh water are describ ed. An estimated signal is derived from spectral radiometer data using an improved cross correlation technique. In applying this technique u se is made of the fact that some a priori information is available reg arding the spectral distribution of the signal produced by the dye. Th e procedure for calibrating the signal estimate with ground truth data is described.
