Aa. Christy et al., INTERPRETATION OF CHEMICAL STRUCTURAL-CHANGES BY TARGET-PROJECTION ANALYSIS OF INFRARED PROFILES, Vibrational spectroscopy, 6(1), 1993, pp. 1-14
Infrared profiles are used as structural descriptors for a range of ch
emical systems, embracing samples from process analysis, geochemistry
and physical chemistry. Structural mapping by infrared profiling accom
panied by target-projection analysis is shown to be a powerful tool fo
r interpretation of the variation pattern in chemical systems. In most
of the applications the interpretation complies with the understandin
g of the chemical changes taking place in the system discussed. For so
me applications, the target-projection analysis brings new insight by
highlighting the changes in the multivariate infrared descriptors.
