Abstract
Hallucinations on withdrawal of midazolam have been noted in intensive care patients. Isoflurane is increasingly used as an alternative drug for sedation. We report a seven-year-old child with 15% burns who, on withdrawal of isoflurane, suffered hallucinations, a generalized seiz ure and disorientation. The adverse symptoms occurred within hours of stopping the isoflurane and lasted for five days.
