Objective: To evaluate the health status and provision of health servi
ces to young adults with cerebral palsy. Results: Ninety-seven per cen
t had ongoing health problems. Consultations with most health professi
onals declined markedly after leaving school. Conclusions: Young adult
s with cerebral palsy have considerable, continuing impairment and dis
ability. Lack of contact with health services after they leave school
may adversely affect their health status.
