Abstract
Fortunately, Australia does not have many of the parasitic worm infect ions, such as filariasis, onchocerciasis and dracunculiasis, that are important on a global scale. Nevertheless, several medically important parasitic worms are endemic in Australia. Intestinal nematodes occur mostly in the tropical north although threadworm is ubiquitous. Hydati d disease and tapeworm infections occur especially in sheep and cattle farming regions.
