Sy. Lazarev et al., OPTIMIZATION OF LATEX-COAT DRYING (REFERRED TO NET MATERIALS) APPLYING FUZZY-SET THEORY, Journal of applied chemistry of the USSR, 65(9), 1992, pp. 1649-1652
Mathematical modeling and optimization of film-coat drying are discuss
ed. With reference to drying of fishnet materials two approaches to th
e solution of this aspect are examined in a situation where the experi
mental data are incomprehensive and inaccurate. One approach entails a
pplication of experiment design techniques to derive regressive equati
ons. Further, the search for optimal parameters reduces to the solutio
n of a normal optimization problem with the first and second types of
constraints. The purpose of the second approach is to establish a qual
itative link between the drying parameters on the one hand and the pro
perties of the goods on the other. These properties are impossible to
measure quantitatively, so the method of appraisal by experts is appli
ed. Thus, what we have here is a multicriterial problem of finding a s
olution in ill-defined situations. It is proposed to be solved by appl
ying a body of mathematics of the fuzzy-set theory.
