Abstract
The limitations in gel permeation chromatography (GPC) analysis of pol ymers with molecular masses (M) higher than (2 - 3) x 10(6) are consid ered. The limit volumes, concentrations of the injected sample, and th e eluent flow rates which do not induce the concentration and volume o verloads during the analysis are determined. The molecular masses of p olystyrenes (PS) with M > (5 - 7) X 10(6) determined based on small-an gle light scattering using laser detector after elution were found to be two to three times lower than initial ones.
