Abstract
The structure of highly dispersed fibrous-porous systems prepared via thermal treatment of high-molecular-mass polyethylene in o-xylene at 1 38-degrees-C and its further orientation at temperatures excluding pol ymer crystallization was studied by means of small-angle and wide-angl e X-ray scattering techniques. The specific features of supermolecular organization of PE matrix are shown to be controlled by the drawing c onditions. All samples studied are characterized by the existence of a well-developed open porous structure.
