Abstract
Highly c-axis oriented thin films of the heavy fermion superconductor UPd2Al3 were prepared by coevaporation of the constituent elements wit h independent rate monitoring of three sources in a molecular beam epi taxy system (MBE). Detailed X-ray and reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED) studies revealed the well ordered in-plane structu re of the films deposited on sapphire substrates with different orient ations. Onset of superconductivity was found up to T(c)on = 1.8 K.
