S. Garciafontan et al., SPECTROSCOPIC STUDY OF CADMIUM(II) COMPLEXES WITH HETEROCYCLIC DITHIOCARBAMATE LIGANDS, Inorganica Chimica Acta, 211(2), 1993, pp. 211-215
Cadmium(II) dithiocarbamates [Cd(dtC)2] (dtc=4-carboxamidopiperidine-1
-carbodithioate, morpholine-1-carbodithioate or 4-(2-hydroxyethyl)pipe
razine-1-carbodithioate) and [Cd(dtc)2]-H2O (dtc=4-hydroxypiperidine-1
-carbodithioate} have been prepared and characterized by thermal analy
sis and IR and NMR (C-13, Cd-113) spectrometry. Two of these ligands h
ave previously been shown capable of removing cadmium from its aged in
vivo storage sites. The use of solid state C-13 NMR measurements to e
stablish the coordination mode of the ditbiocarbamate ligands is also
examined and the difficulties which arise are discussed.
