Ig. Kaplan, ACCOUNT FOR THE MOLECULAR-STRUCTURE IN BETA-DECAY AND THE PROBLEM OF THE NEUTRINO REST MASS, Revista Mexicana de Fisica, 39, 1993, pp. 123-132
All beta sources used for detection of the neutrino rest mass have a m
olecular structure. The energy of the chemical bonding and electronic
excitations is more or much more than the probable rest mass of the el
ectron neutrino. That is why the experimental data cannot be handled w
ithout taking into account an electronic structure of the beta source.
An analysis is given for the effect of the molecular structure on the
beta spectrum and all necessary formula are presented. The possible r
ole of the final states in the 17 keV neutrino measurements is also di
scussed.
