Abstract
Regular monthly sampling of the autotrophic picoplankton was undertake n (March 1991-March 1993) on a transect, in the Gulf of Lions. Spectof luorometric analysis of pigment composition was done. Three main group s were distinguished within the picoplankton community: the prochlorop hytes, cyanobacteria, and picoeukaryotes.
