THE APPLICATION OF POLLACZEK METHOD TO SINGLE-SERVER QUEUING-NETWORKS

The author, who became well acquainted with Mr. Pollaczek in the fifti es, gives a short review of some of his investigations on queueing sys tems, which are based on Pollaczek's analytical methods and have not a ll been published in English. After introducing a queue GI/G/1 with a ''permanent server'' and a two-input queueing model of the type (G + M )/G/1, the ideas are outlined how to analyse networks consisting of ta ndem connected and meshed single server queues.
