STUDIES OF LANTHANOID COMPLEXES WITH CROWN-ETHERS .26. SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURE OF THE 3 2 COMPLEX OF YTTRIUM NITRATE WITH DIBENZO-30-CROWN-10/

The new compound [Y(NO3)2(OH2)2(DB30C10)]2[Y(NO3)5].5CH3NO2 has been s ynthesized and its crystal and molecular structure determined using si ngle crystal X-ray techniques. The colourless, air-sensitive crystals belong to the triclinic space group P1BAR with Z = 2. Lattice paramete rs area = 11.218(2), b = 18.530(4), c = 25.758(5)angstrom, alpha = 70. 96(1), beta = 89.36(1), gamma = 73.92(1), V = 4845(2)angstrom3 . The s tructure was solved and refined to R = 0.059 for 4494 independent refl ections with I greater-than-or-less-than 3sigma(I). The asymmetric uni t contains three independent ions: two [Y(NO3)2(OH2)2(DB30C10)]+ catio ns, in which the coordination number of Y3+ is nine, and one [Y(NO3)5] 2- anion, in which the coordination number of Y3+ is ten.
