Abstract
The determination of specific antibodies against Hantavirus in blood p lasma has been developed. The assay technique is based on a flow throu gh amperometric immunoelectrode. Highly dispersed carbon material serv es as an immunosorbent and at the same time as an electrode material. The analysis employed the 'sandwich' assay scheme. Recombinant protein of Hantavirus was immobilized on the surface of the immunosorbent. Ta rget analyte captured by the immunosorbent at the first stage of incub ation interacts with the peroxidase labelled antihuman antibodies at t he second stage of incubation. The detection of peroxidase label was c onducted amperometrically by electroreduction of iodine formed as a pr oduct of peroxidase catalysed reaction. The technique permits determin ation of specific antibodies against Hantavirus in blood plasma using a 22 min assay time.
